Deck the halls, Santa’s coming

Ho, ho, ho, Santa’s back at The Hinds Head on the 22nd, 23rd and 24th of December for our annual Santa’s Grotto.

For £12 per child, join us between 2.30pm and 5pm for festivities including a visit from Santa himself and a special Christmas gift, games include pin the nose on Rudolph, and a Christmas raffle.

Parents can also enjoy a festive mulled cider whilst the children get involved with their activities. Proceeds will be given to our local charity, the Alexander Devine Children’s Hospice.

Make it a Christmas to remember and join us for a pre-lunch or post-dinner.

What’s red, yellow and green? Our Rhubarb Trifle

Here’s our latest dish to our A La Carte menu, the Rhubarb Trifle.

Inspired by Heston’s trifle from the ‘In Search of Perfection’ series, our Rhubarb Trifle includes sponge fingers soaked in green tea, with a layer of rhubarb puree, poached rhubarb, rhubarb jelly, caraway biscuit, saffron custard and cider syllabub. Sprinkled with hazelnut praline, lime zest and green tea, it’s a real treat for the eyes, as well as the taste buds.

Our Christmas ‘Floral Elements’ Workshop

On Wednesday 3rd December, Miranda Hackett from Flowers by Miranda will join us from 10am – 12 noon for a festive ‘Floral Elements’ Workshop at The Hinds Head, Bray.

Using festive materials, learn how to create your own fresh and fragrant door wreaths whilst enjoying a Hinds Head Christmas cocktail, followed by a special 3 course Christmas lunch celebrating all the tastes and flavours of the season. All your materials and equipment will be provided for.

Heston Blumenthal marks 10 years at The Hinds Head

When Heston Blumenthal took over the Hinds Head, Bray in October 2004 he not only bought a piece of local history in this ancient Tudor building, but also created a unique approach to food and drink and an excellence in taste and flavour, that have since earned our well-loved pub a Michelin star.

Over the past decade, we have kept to that ethos by taking our menu inspiration from traditional British favourites, celebrating the best in seasonal produce.Bray Village

Today, our menus still revisit old favourites, as well as great classics, that now include a list of cocktails and a new range of mocktails for our designated drivers.

From dinners to cocktail competitions, we will be arranging a number of events to celebrate and we want you to join us!

Delighted to announce our Torres Wine Dinner with Cristina Torres

On Wednesday 22nd October, Cristina Torres will join us for an exclusive celebration at the Hinds Head.

The Torres family has been making wine in the ancient Catalán town of Vilafrance del Penedès since 1870. Today, Torres remains independently owned, run by fourth and fifth generation family members.

Specifically matched wines, showcasing the variety of the Torres estates, will accompany each course of this bespoke, wine dinner. From delicate acidity through to intense richness, the wines include:

  • Miguel Torres Chile Santa Digna Estelado Brut NV
  • Torres Fransola Sauvignon Blanc 2010
  • Torres Milmanda Chardonnay 2010
  • Marimar Estate Cristina Pinot Noir 2009

‘Tis the season to book your Christmas party

The Christmas party season is almost upon us and we’re now taking group reservations for our exclusive Vicar’s and Royal Rooms. Located upstairs from the general public areas of the Hinds Head, these atmospheric and dedicated private dining options boast exposed timbers and open fireplaces, providing the perfect backdrop to celebrate the festive season with colleagues, family or friends. Bathed in soft, natural light during the day, both rooms also offer air conditioning.

  • The Vicars RoomWith its pitched roof and exposed oak timbers, this intimate and totally private room can accommodate up to 22 guests for the ultimate in exclusivity.

  • The Royal RoomOpen fires and traditional oak features are the foundation of this more adaptable space that can seat up to 50 guests. This room has the added fascination of having entertained members of the Royal family and Heads of State over the years.

It’s a glorious day – Triple Cooked Chips are back on the menu

After the enforced hiatus of having to remove the Triple Cooked Chips from the menu, we are delighted to inform you that ahead of schedule we have been able to return this popular accompaniment back onto the menu where it belongs.

The timing of their return could not have been better as it nicely coincides with the new steak offerings that were recently added to the menu.

For meat lovers, is there anything better than a glorious piece of fillet or ribeye steak with a bowl of triple cooked chips on the side?

Personally, we think not.

The steaks have been raised

At The Hinds Head, Bray, we know nothing can beat the smell of char grilled beef. That’s why we have introduced a new range of mouth-watering steaks.

You see, we take pride in providing quality to our customers. Our steaks are from sustainably reared, grass fed cattle and are dry aged on the bone for a minimum of 28 days to mature in flavour. Also, all of our steaks are brushed with smoked beurre noisette to make them even more divine.

  • Bavette of Black Angus (8oz)
