Festive Set Menus
This year’s Festive Set Menus are a choice of a three-course or five-course celebration of gastronomic history, Heston’s legacy and his love for all things Christmas. It will of course be a mix of the remarkable and the extraordinary. So why not explore Christmas the Heston way. Which means we’ll be serving his famous dish, “The Truffle”. Inspired by the trompe l’oeil trickery of Tudor court kitchens, it looks like a black winter truffle, but as you might expect with Heston, appearances can be deliciously deceptive.
However, even a Heston Christmas involves a roast, so we’ll also be serving Turkey with all the trimmings – a traditional dish done with The Hind’s Head attention to detail that takes it to another level. And no festive meal would be complete without British cheese and, to round things off nicely, there’ll be Heston’s Mulled Cider Trifle. You’ll be mulling over* its marvellous flavours for days afterwards.
*This probably won’t be the only corny cracker-style joke you come across when you visit!
Our Festive Set Menus are priced accordingly.
Festive à la carte
Our à la carte menu gets a makeover for the festive season, where traditional Christmas favourites sit alongside dishes with a rich gastronomic history. Treat yourself to “The Truffle”, inspired by the trompe l’oeil trickery of the Tudor court kitchens. You’ll soon find out that this black winter truffle hides a wonderfully delicious surprise.
Also on the menu is Heston’s celebrated reinterpretation of the comfort classic Oxtail and Kidney Pudding, in which the traditional steak is replaced with oxtail, introducing an incredibly rich depth to the sauce. And, of course Roast Turkey with all the trimmings for those who want to go with classic Christmas fare, but transformed by Heston’s culinary imagination and precision.
Dessert lovers will be able to feast on Christmiso Pudding (Heston’s miso makeover of the traditional dish, making it lighter), Quaking pudding to name but a few.
However, we wouldn’t be The Hind’s Head if we didn’t ensure that some of your favourite dishes are also served over Christmas. You’ll still find Chunky Chips & Fish on the menu alongside our sharing Beef Wellington and more.
Christmas Carols
Our popular and festively al fresco Christmas carols concert returns on the 11th of December from 5:30pm to 6:30pm. Led by the Taplow Youth Choir, we invite you to join us outside The Hind’s Head for carols, mulled wine and hot chocolate. It’s both warming and heartwarming.
This is an event for the community, and we look forward to welcoming you and spreading some festive cheer. If you do wish to dine with us afterwards, we recommend booking a table.
New Year’s Eve
We’re cooking up something very special for New Year’s Eve, and we can’t wait to share it with you. Watch this space and we will reveal all soon. It will be worth the wait!
Private Dining & Events
The Royal Lounge and The Vicar’s Room are the perfect venues for larger gatherings over the festive season. Our dedicated events team will help you to plan the perfect celebration, whether it’s cocktails and canapes, or a more formal sit-down affair.
